What we did this summer #23

We earned a trip to Magic Mountain

Every summer there is the same struggle...
finding things to do that are good and fun and aren't just watching TV or playing on some sort of electronic devise.

So we challenged the kids (and ourselves) to do other things such as....
write in your journal
paint someone's fingernails
make up a dance
write a missionary
clean your room
do something nice for someone
swim
invite a friend over
take pictures
play the piano
learn a new song
learn to cook something new
read a book
call one of your grandparents
read your scriptures
make a hat
draw a picture
play a sport
ride your bike
jump on the trampoline
fly a kite
make a friendship bracelet
go hiking
memorize a scripture
write a thank you note
read to someone
help Dad do something
make a craft
visit grandmother
make up a dance
do a play

For everything that we did we put a sticker on the chart.  We all had to do an average of two things every day all summer long.  If we did that we would go to Six Flags Magic Mountain the week before school started.

And guess what?????
We did it!!!
Approximately 700 stickers are on that chart.
It made for a great summer!!

I was just talking to my kids about how easy it is to waist time doing nothing. What a great idea to keep you active and using your imagination.
