What we did this summer #7

Took a hike in the Grand Canyon

While Sydney and Price were at EFY in Flagstaff we drove up a couple days early and hiked down to Indian Gardens with our three youngest girls.  

The hike was so beautiful!  It was really hard!  The girls were incredible!  

We hiked 4 1/2 miles down and 4/12 miles back up.  The canyon is hard because the easy part of the hike is in the beginning.  You don't realize how far you've come down until you turn around to go back up.  At the three mile point there is a sign that says, 

"Warning, going down is optional, going up is mandatory!"  

That is the truth, there were a lot of adults struggling to get out of the canyon.

Each of our girls hiked the whole way!!!!  We thought for sure someone would need to ride on Rob's shoulders but they were troupers!!!

I can say that is probably one of the hardest things that those girls have done, and they did it with out any complaint.  I am really proud!  

The pictures are a little sad.  We just had Lane's point and shoot camera and it was on the wrong setting half of the time.  :)
