One of the best things about summer is getting irrigation. Every two weeks in the hotter months our backyard turns into a pond for about two days. Well it is a pond for one day and a swamp for the other day before it dries up. That is the only way we could have such huge trees living in Phoenix. The last time we got irrigation there just wasn't a lot of water. So a few of our neighbors complained to the city about it and this time there was tons of water. Our backyard was mid-shin deep, full enough that some friends brought their kayak over. The kids had a blast running, swimming and kayaking for hours. One of these days we will have a irrigation party and all of those kids whose parents don't care about their kids playing in the dirty water can come over and have a blast.
